Dog Training Problems?

Did you ever have any problems with dog training? I've had a few. In the end I came to
the conclusion that the dogs weren't bad or stupid - I just didn't know as much about dog training as I
thought.
We always had a couple of pet dogs around when I was growing up and always thought of them as a part
of the family. My Dad's idea of dog training was shouting and throwing things. The clever dogs picked it up real quick
but they all looked nervous.
I swore I'd never be the same when I grew up. And guess what? If you guessed I turned into my Dad you'd be 100% right! I had
several dogs and I thought fear was the only way to train them. It never got me anywhere. I was frustrated and the dog was confused. My Dad had
given me a bad example to start with.
A little dog training goes a long way and the person who needed to learn the most was me! I'm
embarrassed now to think how I treated those poor dogs. I had a hand in choosing our latest dog and she's a real treasure. Beautiful, clever
& very, very loving. Sasha is a cross between a Yorkshire Terrier and a Chihuahua. I found I could teach her more with a biscuit and
some love than any amount of shouting and we have a great relationship.
There are articles on grooming, caring for and training your dog along with some
cute pics, advice on names and breeds. Please call back often as I am adding more pages every day.
