Dog Naming Tips

Here are some tips for naming your dog - remember you're going to be using it a LOT!

Pick a name that's not too hard for your dog to understand. No more than two syllables or he may be confused.

Choose something you'll be happy shouting out in the park or the street. Calling "Cody" or "Buster" is less embarrassing than "Killer!"

Avoid names that sound like standard commands like "Sit", "Stay", "Fetch" etc. It's difficult for dogs to tell the difference between similar sounds.

Remember that a choosing long name is always going to get shortened.

Knowing the personality of your dog should help in choosing an appropriate name.
